Will Thompson On His Electrical Course Journey!
Today we thought it would be a good idea to catch up with student Will Thompson who enrolled onto the Level 2 Electrical Course and give you a clearer idea of what it's like to train here at Able Skills. We'll be having a look at why he chose our electrical course, his future plans and an overall review of his time on the in depth course.
Why Able Skills?
I've heard of you guys for a while as my friend Kyle Leigh had done the Level 3 with you guys earlier this year. I see alot of your live videos and content on your Facebook Page which looked really good so I decided to come down and see for myself. I spoke with John in the office who showed me around and had a chance to speak with Clive (Electrical Instructor) and what I saw looked pretty impressive. The centres are well equipped and all the students seemed to be learning alot so I decided to finally leave my job as a personal trainer and go for it.
So why the Level 2 Electrical Course?
Well it's City & Guilds accredited which really appealed to me as it's recognised around the world. If I ever decide to go travelling, it gives me peace of mind knowing I can work at the same time rather than having to save a load of money upfront. I also gathered that this course will allow me to find work on site straight away and that HAS been the case as I just found out I've got a job waiting for me next week!
What are you plans further down the line and can you give us a brief outline of how the past 7 weeks have been?
So right now I'm going to get some industry experience working on site, on both domestic and commercial properties. After that, I want to come back and do my Level 3 but as a Home Study Option.
As for the past 7 weeks, it's safe to say that it's kept me busy! We've covered a lot of theory and a load more practical tasks which constantly kept me engaged. It has been a real pleasure to switch from being a personal trainer and learning a bunch of new skills here which I will no doubt keep for life. If anyone is interested in learning here, I would highly recommend!
Kind words Will! We wish you the best of luck on your new job and don't forget to give us a call about that Level 3! If you've been thinking about the Level 2 Electrical Course, or anyone of our other courses, give us a call on 01322 280 202 or pop in for a look around anytime between 8.30 and 4.30 ANY day of the week!
