Workers who have taken electrician training courses might find that their services are currently in demand after the Bank of England announced that mortgage approvals increased in November.
According to the organisation, the number of home loan deals agreed in November 2009 rose from 57,718 in October to 60,518.
Furthermore, there were 24,897 remortgaging approvals during the same time period.
Increasing numbers of new homeowners could need the help of electricians, plumber and gas workers to help them ready their properties, repair broken appliances or install new devices.
Senior economist at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Oliver Gilmartin commented that this means mortgage approvals have now been "rising consistently for a year and the latest credit conditions survey from the Bank of England continues to suggest a gradual improvement in the lending environment over the coming months."
He added that house prices could continue to rise throughout 2010 as a result of increased housing market activity.
