An industry body has urged professionals in the construction sector who have received training such as electrical courses to comment on government regulations relating to house-building.
A review of the Building Regulations code is being put together by the new Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition's Department of Communities and Local Government.
NICEIC has been asked by the government office to submit ideas to a forum and professionals who have taken electrical courses are being invited to email the group with their thoughts.
"The purpose of this forum is to offer the Department our thoughts on simplifying the Building Regulations, while maintaining safety standards and compliance," explained the organisation.
Earlier this year, NICEIC followed up a court case against electrician Shaun McKever for illegally using the body's logo, with the worker being found guilty and given a 12 community order with 150 hours work that he will need to carry out without being paid.
