Job opportunities could be created for workers who have approved electrical qualifications after it was announced that Esteem has won a £500 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) contract.
The scheme will involve the renovation of ten schools in Hull and the construction of seven others by a consortium that includes Robertson Capital Projects, Morgan Sindall Investments and Sewell Group.
Morgan Ashurst, Morgan Sindall's construction arm, will also be part of the building delivery process with a £200 million project that will begin in February of next year and could be completed by 2014.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall said: "We look forward to working with our construction partners and Hull City Council to create exceptional, sustainable learning facilities for the people of Hull."
Key to the scheme could be workers with approved qualifications and who have been taught to a sufficient standard to deliver high-quality electrical and plumbing services during the building process.
Project managers for Morgan Ashurst recently won a total of three titles at the Construction Manager of the Year Awards held at the Marriott Grosvenor House.
