Working as a plumber? Consider Gas training
Plumbing is a great trade, a skill that is always in demand! However at some point in your career as a plumber you may notice your peers, the other plumbers around you are becoming Gas Safe Registered. This is a typical path for plumbers and is a great way to earn extra income and ultimately have more opportunity out in the industry. The two trades go hand-in-hand in terms of the process that go into completing a job of each type, same appliances, tools, pipes and so on. We have notice this trend over the years and have put together a set of Qualified Plumber Gas Training Packages! These are tailor made collections of Gas courses for professional Plumbers who are looking to add the second trade to their arsenal...
Why know both?
Simple really, having both trades in your toolbox means that there are plenty more jobs that you can go out and complete on a daily basis. If at a certain point in time you are experiencing a dip in plumbing calls you could complete some gas work. This is particularly useful in lower populated areas as you may already feel that there are less opportunities to work strictly as a plumber, however, having the ability to do both is useful anywhere in the country. Not to mention the enjoyment of learning and applying a new skill that is different from the norm, something to better yourself and see progression as a professional that will in the end see you build a more versatile, self-employed career for yourself!
Wan't to get involved?
When looking to achieve a Bpec Gas Foundation Certificate as an experienced plumber we often point to our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 2. That's because this package includes everything you need to begin working the trade, these include; 5-weeks of training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment. All of which are needed in preparation for applying to the Gas Safe Register! Normally, new entrants to the gas industry would need 7-weeks of training but due to your knowledge of things like pipe-work as an experienced plumber, the course is reduced to just 5-weeks.
