If you would like to master the finer points within carpentry, this joinery course will exceed your expectations. All manner of joints are covered and you will learn to construct and assemble these joints, using precision measuring and cutting to create a finished product.
This Joinery qualification will provide you with an understanding of how to construct and assemble various joints to achieve a City & Guilds joinery certificate.
To achieve this Joinery certificate, you will undertake training and assessment to complete the following units:
The assessments you will undertake are:
Constructing halving joints
Constructing housing joints
Constructing through mortice and tenon joints
Constructing angled halving joints
Constructing bridle joints
Constructing haunched mortice and tenon joints
Constructing stub mortice and tenon joints
If you manage to complete the above units in less than the allocated 6 weeks, there is an additional complex assessment in place for you to attempt. This assessment will not make a difference to you achieving the qualification, it is just an opportunity to put all of your new found skills in to practice.
This City & Guilds training option will require 6 weeks of intensive hands on training in our purpose-built Carpentry training centre where we can cater for all areas of Carpentry and Joinery. This is an intensive 6 weeks of hands on training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your work. You will be assessed on a variety of units as detailed above.
The course will provide you with in depth joinery training during which time you will be assessed by our qualified carpentry and joinery assessors.
This Joinery award can be completed at training intervals which suit you as we have the staff and facilities within our Carpentry Training Centre which give us the luxury of being flexible with both the training plan and the payment plan.
This is a hands-on, practical joinery course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.
